The construction industry is rapidly developing with numerous large-scale projects, leading to an increase in disputes within the sector. According to statistics from the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre (VIAC), construction disputes continued to account for a significant proportion in 2024, ranking second among the areas of disputes handled and resolved at VIAC. Most of these disputes involve large-scale projects, complex circumstances, and multiple technical factors. Given the aforementioned situation and the evolving landscape of arbitration, dispute resolution in the construction sector has witnessed several emerging trends in recent times. These trends are expected to bring positive impacts to the arbitration process; however, they also pose significant challenges for arbitral tribunals, arbitration institutions, and involved parties in swiftly adapting to ensure effective coordination and procedural management.
